Kidz Closet Charities Receives $10,000 Gift to Support Expansion Amid Rising Community Need  Anonymous donation underscores the growing urgency to support vulnerable children and families in Indian River County
 
Indian River County, FL – September 17, 2025 — Kidz Closet Charities, a trusted nonprofit serving children and families facing financial and safety challenges in Indian River County, has received a $10,000 donation from a generous local supporter who wishes to remain anonymous.
 
The donor shared a powerful message with the gift: “I give to be an inspiration to others to contribute according to their means to help the more unfortunate in our community.”
 
Now in its 17th year, Kidz Closet Charities continues to provide essential clothing and personal care items to children in need. In 2024, the all-volunteer organization served more than 450 individuals and stocked essential items in the closets of over 20 nonprofit partner organizations throughout the county.
 
Demand is rising sharply. In 2025, Kidz Closet is already seeing a 50% increase in need across the community.
 
"This donation is a meaningful reminder that everyday generosity can spark lasting change," said a spokesperson for Kidz Closet Charities. "It comes at a pivotal moment as we prepare to relocate and expand our operations to meet the growing demand."
 
The upcoming move, while necessary, will double the organization's operating expenses. However, the new facility will significantly increase capacity—enabling Kidz Closet to reach even more children and families in crisis.
 
As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit run entirely by volunteers, Kidz Closet Charities relies on the support of the community to sustain and grow its mission. Donations help cover critical operating costs, provide essential supplies, and keep the organization agile in response to rising local needs.
