New Legislative Requirements for Initiative Petitions
Indian River County, FL – During the 2025 Legislative Session, the Florida Legislature passed and the Governor signed into law House Bill 1205, which strengthens the rules surrounding the citizen initiative petition process. Beginning October 1, 2025, Supervisors of Elections across Florida are now required to notify voters when their signature on an initiative petition form has been verified as valid. Indian River County Supervisor of Elections Sends Out Mail Ballots for Municipal Elections
Indian River County, FL – Vote-by-Mail ballots are in the mail to 1,684 voters who have a request on file for the 2025 Municipal Elections. The November 4 Municipal Elections are held to elect city council members for the Cities of Fellsmere and Vero Beach. The City of Sebastian will not have an election on November 4.
