Dan Bowen named president of Orlando Health

Sebastian River Hospital

SEBASTIAN, Fl - (January 27, 2026) — Orlando Health has named Dan Bowen, MBA, FACHE, as president of Orlando Health Sebastian River Hospital, effective January 19, 2026. Bowen will lead operations for the 145-bed hospital serving Indian River County and the surrounding Treasure Coast communities.

“Sebastian River Hospital plays a vital role in the health and well-being of this community,” Bowen said. “I’m honored to join the Orlando Health East Region and excited to work alongside our physicians, team members and community partners to build on the hospital's strong foundation while advancing access, quality and patient-centered care.”

Bowen brings more than 25 years of healthcare leadership experience, spanning hospital systems, integrated delivery networks, and military medical operations. Most recently, he served as market chief operating officer for Piedmont Medical Center in South Carolina, where he oversaw daily operations across multiple facilities, led major renovation projects, expanded service lines, and implemented initiatives that improved patient outcomes.
Previously, Bowen served as president of multiple hospitals within the Health First system, where he was responsible for both clinical and non-clinical operations. He also spent 21 years in the United States Air Force, retiring at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. During his military career, Bowen led large-scale medical logistics, equipment management, and construction initiatives at the Air Force’s largest medical center at Travis Air Force Base in California.
Ohme Entin, president of the Orlando Health East Region, said Bowen’s appointment aligns with continued growth across the region in 2026.
“As Orlando Health continues to invest in the East Region, Dan's leadership will be instrumental in expanding services, strengthening clinical excellence and meeting the increasing health care needs of the communities we serve,” Entin said. “His experience and vision position Orlando Health Sebastian River Hospital for continued progress in the year ahead.”

Together, Bowen and the Orlando Health Sebastian River Hospital team are focused on building a strong future rooted in exceptional care, community connection and continued growth.
