Indian River County Supervisor of Elections Sends Out Mail Ballots for Municipal Elections
Indian River County, FL – Vote-by-Mail ballots are in the mail to 1,684 voters who have a request on file for the 2025 Municipal Elections. The November 4 Municipal Elections are held to elect city council members for the Cities of Fellsmere and Vero Beach. The City of Sebastian will not have an election on November 4.
In addition, the Elections Office has already sent out 20 ballots to military and overseas voters so they have extra time to receive and return their ballot for the upcoming municipal elections. All Vote-by-Mail requests from prior years expired in December 2024. Voters who have already renewed their Vote-by-Mail ballot request can expect delivery of their ballot next week.
If a voter has not yet requested a Vote-by-Mail ballot, there is still time to do so. The deadline for voters to request a Municipal Election ballot to be delivered by mail is 5 p.m. on Thursday, October 23. Vote-by-Mail ballots requests can be made online at VoteIndianRiver.gov or voters can call in their request at 772-226-4700.
Vote-by-Mail ballots must be returned to the Elections Office by 7 p.m. on Election Day in order to be counted. The United States Postal Service recommends that voters mail their ballots at least one week before Election Day. Supervisor of Elections, Leslie Rossway Swan wants voters to be aware that voted mail ballots may not be dropped off at Election Day polling places.
Voted ballots must be returned to the Indian River County Supervisor of Elections Office in the certificate envelope, with the voter’s signature and date signed.
Voters with questions are encouraged to contact the Supervisor of Elections Office by email at Info@VoteIndianRiver.gov, or by phone at 772-226-4700, Monday – Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
