Space Coast Symphony Orchestra Brings the Children’s Classic Princess and the Pea to Life at the Vero Beach Museum of Art on March 14

The Vero Beach Museum of Art (VBMA) is pleased to host the Space Coast Symphony Orchestra for the second Once Upon an Orchestra performance of this season. On Saturday, March 14, 2026, at 11 a.m., members of the Symphony’s string family, including the violin, viola, and cello, will tell the story of the Princess and the Pea, a literary fairy tale by Hans Christian Andersen.  The performance is part of VBMA’s free-admission Second Saturdays programming, which also includes family artmaking activities, exhibition mini-tours, and sketching in the gallery.

Designed for preschool and kindergarten-aged children and their families, the delightful 45-minute Once Upon an Orchestra musical storytime will take place in the Museum’s Leonhardt Auditorium. Space Coast Symphony Orchestra Conductor and Artistic Director Aaron T. Collins will serve as narrator. Following the concert, families are invited to join the performers and get a close-up view of the instruments.

This is the second Once Upon an Orchestra concert offered to Museum guests this season. On November 8, the Symphony performed Pinocchio.

The Vero Beach Museum of Art is located at 3001 Riverside Park, Vero Beach, Florida. On the second Saturday of each month, Museum admission is free for visitors of all ages.
