'A Soulful Soiree:' GYAC's Silent Disco Returns with a Jazzy Twist

GIFFORD, FL,  Monday, January 6, 2025 — A swingin’ good time awaits all who attend!  ‘A Soulful Soiree: Jazzing Up the Night for the Gifford Youth Achievement Center (GYAC),’ presented by the Bernard Egan Foundation, is just around the bend. Celebrating GYAC’s 27-year history, as well as the rich history of New Orleans jazz, guests will journey back in time with riffs and rhythms of jazz greats like Buddy Bolden, Fats Domino, and Louis Armstrong.  Guests are invited to savor Cajun and Creole inspired dishes while they sip and sway to sounds playing through your wireless headphones. Plus, attendees will be treated to an emotional performance from Once on This Island JR by 21 of GYAC’s students, in collaboration with Riverside Theatre.
‘A Soulful Soiree’ will take place on Saturday, January 25th, from 5:30 – 9:30 PM at the Oak Harbor Clubhouse. Tickets are $250 per person, and all proceeds benefit GYAC's educational programs and initiatives. GYAC’s silent auction will feature local and New Orleans inspired experiences, as well as unique items you do not want to miss.
GYAC is jazzing up the night to help raise vital funds for its educational programs which support academic excellence for local youth in grades kindergarten through twelfth.
"This year's gala promises to be an unforgettable evening that celebrates GYAC’s rich history and bright future," said Angelia Perry, executive director of GYAC. "The support of our community enables us to continue providing meaningful educational services to the youth of Indian River County."
