About Us
OUR MISSION: To enrich the cultural lives of our community members by producing professional opera productions, concerts and international vocal competitions of the highest quality which promote an increased awareness and deeper appreciation of opera to expanding and diverse audiences of all ages.
PERFORMANCES
We perform at the Vero Beach High School Performing Arts Center.
Each January, we self-produce a fully staged opera with a symphony orchestra. We cast the world's top rising opera singers who love coming to Indian River County in January!
Each February, we produce a Best of Broadway & Opera Concert which is a big favorite of our Indian River County audience members.
Each March, we stage Zarzuelas, and we cast seasoned Zarzuela singers, dancers and musicians.
Each April, we award major cash prizes to the world's top rising opera singers who compete in our Rising Stars Vocal Competition.
COMMUNITY OUTREACH PROGRAMS
We offer an array of local community outreach programs including A Class Act: Opera in the Classroom which brings opera education and appreciation directly into our Indian River County elementary school classrooms. Our Piano Scholarship program is awarded to a limited number of local students who qualify to study with Dr. Marcos Daniel Flores.
MEMBERSHIP/SOCIAL EVENTS
In addition to our performance schedule, we have a busy social season. Vero Beach Opera Members enjoy special access to artists, galas, performance after-parties, our private Parlor Concert Series, AMICI Luncheon, and advance tickets & priority seating.
