About Us

At Kidz Closet Charities, our goal is to provide children and their families with essential clothing and items that address immediate needs while ensuring each individual is treated with dignity and respect. By embracing sustainable practices, we also prioritize solutions that are environmentally responsible and foster long-term benefits for our community. We believe that no child should feel the weight of poverty when it comes to having clean clothes, well-fitting shoes, or the educational supplies they need to succeed. Every donation we receive goes directly into uplifting local families, ensuring kids can focus on being kids and achieving their full potential.

Kidz Closet Charities began as the offspring of Kidz Closet Consignment in 2008 by Susan Jursik and Diane Mahan. Unfortunately, the consignment store located at 812 21st Street, Vero Beach burned down in May of 2022. However, the spirit that started the charity remains strong despite the challenges of the fire and COVID outbreak, and the organization continues to provide clothing, shoes, toys, strollers and other equipment to hundreds of children though partner agencies each year from their ''club house'' at 2300 5th Avenue, Suite 149-A (next door to Childcare Resources).

Donations to Kidz Closet are inspected, cataloged and stored in our Vero Beach Facility. When a vetted social service partner submits an order, specifying needed styles and preferences, our volunteer staff works to fill the order with proper sized and age-appropriate clothing and footwear.
