Outside Sale Representative - Print and Digital Ads with Hometown News

Hometown News Media Group is seeking a dynamic, results-driven Outside Sales Representative to join our award-winning team for Indian River County. This role is ideal for a self-starter passionate about helping local businesses grow through a strategic mix of Print and Digital Advertising.

Hometown News is an independently owned group of 15 community newspapers serving Florida’s East Coast from Volusia to Martin County, and a digital marketing company dedicated to providing the best local news and effective marketing solutions for our community. 

Full-Time Position - Base Salary plus Commission. 
Monday - Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

• Drive Revenue: Prospect and secure advertising sales for both print publications and digital platforms (social media, email, and web).
• Territory Management: Manage and grow a protected geographic territory by identifying new business opportunities through cold calling and networking.
• Consultative Selling: Translate client marketing goals into creative, multi-media advertising campaigns that deliver results.
• Relationship Building: Maintain strong relationships with existing accounts, providing exceptional customer service and resolving inquiries or complaints.
• Presentations: Develop and deliver persuasive sales pitches and sample ads to business owners and decision-makers.
• Market Research: Stay current on industry trends, demographics, and competitor activity to effectively position our products.

• Experience: Previous experience in sales or customer service is required; media or advertising experience is a major plus.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills; ability to negotiate and close deals.
• Technical Proficiency: Comfortable using digital products, CRM platforms, and standard office software (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Mindset: An assertive, goal-oriented "closer" who can work independently and meet strict deadlines.
• Mobility: Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation for daily travel within the assigned territory.
