Description
Community Reads Week Spark Wonder, Share Stories, and Support Early Literacy! Community Reads Week: Empowering Young Minds, One Story at a Time Join us October 26–29, 2026! Community Reads Week is back, and we're inviting you to be part of something magical. This special week is your chance to spark curiosity, inspire a love of reading, and make a lasting impression on our youngest learners. Through our Early Head Start program, we nurture children from birth to 2 years old (along with their pregnant mothers), while our Head Start program guides children ages 3–5 on their journey toward kindergarten readiness. For more than 60 years, we have prepared over 16,000 children for success in school and in life, building foundations that last a lifetime. We warmly invite community members, parents, early childhood advocates, and anyone who loves to read to visit our classrooms across Indian River and Okeechobee counties. Your presence (and your voice) can open doors to imagination, connection, and a lifelong love of books. Volunteer spots are available: Monday, October 26 – Various times Tuesday, October 27 – Various times Wednesday, October 28 – Various times Thursday, October 29 – Various times Can't stay long? No problem! Volunteer reader spots are just 20 minutes long and we'd be honored to have you. Every page turned, every story shared, and every smile exchanged makes a difference. Help us ignite a passion for reading and celebrate the incredible potential of every child in our Head Start programs. Your time truly shapes their future! Interested in volunteering?
